Opened products for the health, medical and safety reasons cannot be returned, restocked and refunded. We accept return only if bottle is not opened and shrink-band seal is not broken. Shipping costs are non-refundable.

Hawaii pharm products are not standardized liquid extracts (tincture) that represent the full-spectrum of the original plant.

Yes, all Hawaii Pharm products are natural and don't contain any chemical additives. They don’t contain GMO, gluten, artificial colors, heavy metals, preservatives, pesticides, fertilizers.

Alcohol is a powerful and effective extractant which is able to extract fats, resins, waxes, most alkaloids as well as many other plant components. In addition, alcohol serves as an excellent preservative which maintains medicinal properties for many years. Moreover, alcohol is quickly absorbed by the body so the therapeutic effect comes almost instantly.

The company uses 40-60% alcohol and vegetable glycerin so the final products contain about 25-35% of alcohol.

Glycerin is an integral part of all fats and oils. Glycerin is very sweet, has soothing properties and is therefore ideal for children and non-alcohol users. Glycerin has good preservative properties, extracts nutrients and minerals from plants.

Alcohol and alcohol-free products are equally effective. The main difference is that alcohol-free version doesn't contain alcohol. The solvents are only glycerin and water. The extracts based on glycerin are sweetish because of the natural property of glycerin. Such extracts turn out to be rather sweet even though there is absolutely no sugar in them. Moreover, tinctures based on alcohol have longer shelf life (about 5 years) than glycerite extracts (about 3 years in the fridge).

The company uses Sugar Cane Certified Organic Ethyl Alcohol of the highest purification.

The glycerin used in our products is derived from vegetable oils sourced from renewable plant materials. Because sourcing can vary, we’re not able to specify a single plant origin for every batch. For those who appreciate flaxseed-derived glycerin, we are now launching a specialty line crafted with this distinctive base.

One serving is equal to 20-30 drops or 1 ml of the product.

You should take 20-30 drops (1 ml) three times a day or as directed by your practitioner. The best way to use liquid herbal tinctures is to put the suggested amount in a glass of water, tea, or juice and drink the entire contents. Tinctures can also be administered directly into the mouth without the assistance of water, however some tinctures are unpalatable which is why most people prefer to dilute them into a beverage.

Hawaii Pharm products are intended only for medicinal purposes. They shouldn't be used as flavorings or aromatising agents.

You should keep the products out of the reach of children. Alcohol-based tinctures should be stored in a cool dry place and alcohol-free products are to be refrigerated after opening.

Alcohol-based tinctures normally can be stored for up to 5 years.

Alcohol-free (glycerin-based) extracts typically have a 3 year shelf life.

Usually we use a traditional method of extraction – maceration. In some cases we use ultrasonic extraction and vacuum concentration methods.

Usually the ratio is:

the dry plant material / menstruum -  1/3 but may vary from one herb to another. 

We produce mother tinctures, while homeopathic products are made via serial dilution of mother tinctures with water. 

Certified Organic means that the herbs have been grown in an environment with no use of synthetic or toxic substances and certified by special agency. Wildcrafted means that the plants  have been collected from the wild where they grow naturally.

Yes, all tinctures are extracts, but not all extracts are tinctures. An extract is a substance produced by extracting a part of a raw material using such solvents as glycerin, vinegar, ethanol or water. A tincture is an alcoholic extract of plant or animal material. To qualify as an alcoholic tincture, the extract should have a percentage of ethanol not less than 25–60%.

Generally, herbal tinctures are taken between meals. Thus, tinctures should not be in competition with food in the stomach and the digestive process. However, some herbs are best taken before meals. For example, bitter herbs help to produce hydrochloric acid and other digestive enzymes. Other herbs are to be taken before bedtime to give rest and a more peaceful sleep. Be aware of the dosage notation for each herb for specific directions on timing.
