Woolly Fern is an evergreen or perennial rhizomatous fern in the Dicksoniaceae family. It originates from China and Thailand. The stems can grow up to 1 m in height, when upright, but they are often procumbent and form colonies of plants in the forests or abandoned areas. The fronds can reach up to 3 m in height. They are clustered and 3 times pinnately compound. The leaflets are lanceolate with acute apexes and serrated margins. The sori are marginal and formed on the pinnules. The rhizomes are covered with golden-brown, woody, thick hairs.
