Pineapple is native to South American and a part of Hawaiian folk medicine. It is one of the richest sources in the world of the enzyme bromelain. Bromelain is derived from the pineapple plant (Ananas comosus).

Ingredients:

0,5 cup coconut milk

juice of 1 lemon or lime

3 cups frozen pineapple

0,5 bunch fresh cilantro

1 cup water

Directions:

Combine coconut milk, lemon or lime juice, pineapple, cilantro and 1 cup water in a high-powered blender. Blend until smooth, adding water as needed for desired thickness.

Enjoy immediately or store in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.

Piña Colada Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 cup coconut milk

1 raw egg

1 tablespoon coconut oil (melted)

2 tablespoons honey

1 cup fresh or frozen pineapple

0,5 banana

0,5 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 tablespoons flax seeds

Directions:

Combine the ingredients in a high-speed blender.
